Scott Brown will shake off his injury worries to head along to support the testimonial match for Lewis Stevenson.

Yesterday’s injury against Shamrock Rovers doesn’t seem to be hindering the hoops skipper as he looks forward to the match between Hibs and Sunderland.

A decade ago Brown and Stevenson were team-mates as Hibs beat Kilmarnock 5-1 to win the League Cup.

While Brown moved on to scoop up all the trophies at Celtic Stevenson has remained at Hibs and became their first ever player to win League Cup and Scottish Cup medals.

Keeping his place under almost a dozen managers he was the regular left-back in last season’s promotion winning season as a three season stint in the Championship came to an end.

It wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in the world of Brown is joined at Easter Road by Leigh Griffiths.

Sunderland are hoping to sign up Aiden McGeady from Everton after he played alongside new manager Simon Grayson last season at Preston.
