Sevco’s season of misery continued today when a very experienced U-20 side lost 2-1 to East of Scotland League side Tynecastle FC.
With no first team matches lined up Pedro Caixinha used today’s friendly to give Micky O’Halloran, Miles Beerman and Harry Forrester some match practice.
The plan seems to have backfired however with the experienced players dragging down Graeme Murty’s kids who are preparing for a season of friendlies against Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Corby Town.
Incredibly proud of our young squad beating a Rangers team consisting of O’Halloran, Forrester, Beerman etc. Boys were unbelievable ??????

Unbelievable performance and result from the 1st Team, winning against a Rangers team with 6 first team players playing!

Tynecastle took an early lead through Ryan Malcolm but an own goal brought the young Sevs back on level terms before Euan Greig put Tynecastle ahead in the 69th minute.
Despite their full time opponents having 20 minutes left to play there was no further scoring as Tynecastle enjoyed a pre-season boost.
Sevco skipper Lee Wallace coaches with Tynecastle who include Craig Gordon among their former players.
Caixinha hasn’t said a word in public since the Europa League KO to Progres Niederkorn and has no friendlies arranged before the August 6 SPFL opener against Motherwell.
