Gary Lineker could hardly believe it when he heard that Sevco had been knocked out of the Europa League by Progres Niederkorn.
A 2-0 defeat in Luxembourg produced roars of laughter across Scotland and a ripple of amusement across England where clubs are starting their pre-season training.
Lineker came into the game at Leicester where Jock Wallace installed old fashioned values and ensured that players sweated for the cause.
Rangers lost to a club in Luxembourg. Not Luxembourg but a club in Luxembourg. Not the best team in Luxembourg, the 4th best in Luxembourg.

Pedro Caixinha may have a neat line in PR and a sophisticated foreign accent but when it comes down to managing he’s not in the same ballpark as Wallace.
Tomorrow night English football will continue with it’s massive spending game while Caixinha is left to pick up the pieces from the worst result in Sevco’s proud five year history.
Ally McCoist led the club to defeats against Annan, Peterhead and Alloa but the former Question of Sport funnyman will be having a sly giggle as his highly rated successor heads in the same direction as Mark Warburton.
