Twitter was awash with joy tonight as Sevco crashed out of the Europa League to Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourg.
Despite a £10m spending spree and unprecedented hype Pedro Caixinha watched his All Stars taken apart by Luxembourg’s fourth best team.
The divided dressing room had no answer to goals from the home side in the 66th and 75th minutes as their first ever European campaign came to a shuddering halt.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

For the avoidance of doubt, the financial “plan” for Sevco this season was based on a good European run. pic.twitter.com/bC288Mty1B

Before tonight Progres Niederkorn had played 13 European matches, losing all of them, conceding 41 goals and scoring just 1.

Progres Niederkorn had never won a European match & scored only one European goal in their entire history.

Just like last summer the triumphalism from Ibrox has been cranked up beyond belief with fans of every other club just waiting for the bubble to burst.
Even the most optimistic fan didn’t truly believe that Progres would halt the bandwagon but a club with one goal and no victories from their 13 previous European ties came up with the goods to trigger joy across every corner of social media.
After banning green boots and introducing WATP slogans across Ibrox Caixinha can now show the people that he can actually manage a football team and prevent Celtic from winning their seventh successive title.
