Sevco have refused to answer the criticisms raised by Barrie McKay.

On Thursday the former Ibrox ace stated that he ‘wasn’t being treated the way any human being should be treated’ .

After deciding which players that he wanted rid of Pedro Caixinha instructed them to report for training at 6am and also introduced weekend sessions.

Andy Halliday and Matt Crooks were forced out with McKay moving to Nottingham Forest at the start of the month.

The flying winger scored the club’s first ever goal at Brechin City in 2012 but that didn’t earn any respect from the new management team.

Rather than address the main issue ‘an Auchenhowie Source’ told the Evening Times: “Barrie was made a contract offer that would have doubled his wages and made him one of the highest paid players at the club. But he chose not to sign it and instead moved on this summer.

Rangers wanted to keep him but it became apparent that he didn’t want to be at the club.

His statistics in training showed that his attitude wasn’t right and that he didn’t want to be here.”

Despite being linked with a £6m move to RB Leipzig in January McKay joined Forest for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £400,000.

Mark Warburton has also been linked with a move for goalkeeper Wesley Foderingham.
