The loyal bears have had their eyes opened this week as they returned to Ibrox.
On the pitch Derek McInnes is putting together the most staunch team since Walter Smith sent Barry Ferguson, Kris Boyd, Kirk Broadfoot and Kenny Miller down the tunnel with the party tunes still ringing in their ears.
Alas it seems that most areas of Ibrox haven’t been cleaned or even maintained since Dave Murray and Dick Advoccat were throwing money around like Lotto winners.
Of course every four months there are reports of a new Super Ibrox emerging.
Lowering the pitch, adding extra tiers to the stands, new corporate seating, almost everything short of the fabled six star hotel, helipad and Super Casino.
Reality is that two years ago a plan to install disabled places in the Copland Stand saw the club forced to play for a month at Hampden.
Apparently the Chinese steel was late in delivery. That was the party line as the misery switched to Hampden, the graveyard for so many recent dreams.
Who could forget Phil Clement, Alex Rae and Ross McCausland celebrating a 2-0 League Cup win over St Johnstone in front of 500 delirious fans at Hampden?

THE CRUMBLING STATE OF THE IBROX FOOTPRINT
And there are more heart-breaking tales from the swamplands.
Despite funds from Club 1872 being used for new carpets and a polish of the marble staircase.
Close season is nesting time at Ibrox as the local wildlife make themselves at home inside the stand built when Mister Struth was learning to play the flute.

As recently as February 2025 the Daily Record promised billions of investment through the 49ers.
That was quickly downgraded to trusty Andy Cavenagh. The man that appointed Russell Martin and Danny Rohl but apparently he now gets it.
Third place in a two horse race with £40m thrown at last season’s attempt to get the better of Celtic.
For almost 30 years Celtic Park has had the biggest capacity in Scottish football.
That fact haunts the bears brought up by Murray in his pomp. As the fans were fed a diet of moonbeams through the chosen messengers than dined out on the brilliance of Dave Murray.
That fantasy came crashing to earth when Craig Whyte rolled a pound coin into a sweaty palm.
Bar the addition of the hideous Club Deck Ibrox is unchanged since the early eighties.
Judging by the performances against St Etienne and West Ham it seems that the pigeon poo isn’t just festering in the Struth Stand.

It’s a bad day when they don’t have enough money for fridge.
They can always pick up some second hand fridges from Govan Electrics or better still try the Scottish Welfare Fund, they can one for free of them.
Seems fitting to me. A dump for a pile of excrement.
At a glance the new hun wi’ the Danny Rohl flag could be Russell Martin. How dae they keep the banter in the Banter Years at such a high level? Who cares? Keep it up huns.
Fuck my auld boots, that’s really given me a comedy lift, and much needed.
This site’s become regularly depressing and that is NOT the fault of our editor.
It’s the fucking board, but what goes around comes around and Desmond is destined for pay-back. As is Lawwell. Nicholson and McKay need to go but they’re just a pair of hugely over-paid numpties being played by Desmond and Lawwell. On salaries they’ll never get near again.
PS Anyone thinking Lawwell is permanently out of the picture perhaps has to look again. He’s a wily bastard and loves the easy money he’s drawn under false pretences from our support.
NEVER let him back but he’s the obvious (planned years ago) replacement for Nicholson.
Think about it! Nicholson has served his purpose and will be evicted. Supporters, don’t FFS be conned yet again!
Lie-Brokes !
Let’s be perfectly honest , Parkhead is just as bad. Totally neglected. Dilapidated dump in places. Please get it cleaned up. HH
Those strong rumours about the entire stadium filled with Asbestos may be true after all ? Maybe that’s why they wouldn’t want to interrupt a sleeping giant now would they by allowing necessary refurbishments to the crumbling old structure ? Way more trouble than it is worth . That would be a catastrophic situation for the tribute act …and their good pals in the SFA too ! Or the ‘ whispers ‘ might just be that ….rumours ?
