Jon Daly has labelled Brendan Rodgers a disgrace after the Celtic boss discussed the managerial situation at Hearts.

After being asked about the sacking of Ian Cathro the Celtic boss claimed that it seemed that some of the signings made didn’t seem like Cathro’s type of players.

Daly has quickly stepped into the boots of Cathro and prepared the squad for today’s 4-1 hammering from Celtic.

Typically Daly claimed not to have read the offending articles but after being questioned before the match broke off from his preparations to read what Rodgers said.

Disgraceful,” the former Sevco striker said when asked about the comments from Rodgers.

It’s very very poor form, a manager of his calibre should know better, should know better. You know I followed Brendan’s career at Liverpool, when he was down south and never once did I hear him make a comment about Man United’s structure, about Chelsea’s structure, about Man City’s structure but all of a sudden he comes to Celtic and thinks it’s acceptable to talk about the structure of our football club.

Our club at the minute is probably very easy at the moment to kick and pick on. For a manager of another football club to come out with those comments is not acceptable.

I can understand him making comments about the manager leaving, that’s acceptable because we all don’t like to see a manager lose his job.

However once he starts to talk about recruitment of players, the recruitment of players fitting into the system and questioning Ian’s authority shows me that he doesn’t know Ian Cathro very well.”

Daly was brought in by Craig Levein to take charge of the Hearts Development League side following the departure of Ross Jack to Alloa Athletic.

Levein signed Daly for Dundee United before he quit Tannadice for a two year contract at Ibrox before retiring due to injury.
