Even the most cautious of Celtic fans had to admit last night that the hoops are bound for the group stage of the Champions League.

Taking a 5-0 win to Kazakhstan will see the bhoys make it into the draw for the group phase on August 26 which will see at least a £30m boost into the club’s bank account.

The exact make up of the other teams in the draw has still to be determined.

So far 23 teams are definitely in the draw which sees them split in four pots of eight with Celtic one upset away from being promoted from Pot 4 to Pot 3.

Should Olympiakos fail to defend their 2-1 lead next week away to Rijeka Celtic will move into Pot 3 and miss out on the chance to be drawn against Spurs, Roma, Besiktas, Anderlecht and Liverpool should they complete the job against Hoffenheim.

The full list of opponents so far is:

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Benfica, Monaco, Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk

Pot 2: Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris St Germain, Borussia Dortmund, *Sevilla, Manchester City, Porto, Manchester United

Pot 3: *Napoli, Spurs, Basel, *Olympiakos, Anderlecht, *Liverpool, Roma, Besiktas

Pot 4: *CSKA Moscow, *Copehagen, *Sporting Lisbon, *APOEL Nicosia, Feyenoord, *Maribor, RB Leipzig

It’s assumed that Celtic will be in Pot 4.

The group stage draw will take place in Monaco on August 24 at 11am Celtic Park Time.
