A year after joining Celtic Scott Sinclair knows just how special a place he has found.

The former Aston Villa man was dropped straight into Champions League qualifiers after joining the hoops last August and was put through all of the emotions away to Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Having experienced the drama of a treble win he realised that bigger than any trophy success is the need to be involved in the group phase of the Champions League.

…The atmosphere and energy from the fans last night was unbelievable!!! ????????????

While his former team-mates plod along in the backwaters of the English game Sinclair can find himself in the Champions League spotlight of the most atmospheric stadium in Europe.

Like any top professional Sinclair produced his top form when it was most required with goals either side of half time to give the hoops a 5-0 first leg win.

Last season the woodwork in Monchengladbach denied Sinclair a goal in the Champions League- only a fool would bet against the attacking midfielder netting in this season’s group phase.
