Sevco have announced the signing of Welsh ace Declan John from Cardiff City.

The out of favour defender arrived at state-of-the-art Murray Park for talks last night and completed his medical this morning.

John hasn’t played a competitive game since April but has been given a contract until the end of the season. No undisclosed or nominal fee was required.

After breaking into the Cardiff side in 2012 he was handed a five year contract a year later with Neil Warnock pleased to get the 22-year-old off his wage bill after less than 50 top team appearances.

No clubs attempted to hi-jack the Declan deal.

With an additional £6m in soft loans required to make up the shortfall of being knocked out of the Europa League Pedro Caixinha has found his spending plans curtailed.

Andy Halliday, Micky O’Halloran and Harry Forrester have gone out on loan but Jason Holt and Joe Dodoo remain despite being told that they won’t feature in the plans of the fifth best coach in Qatar.
