The row between Kenny Miller and Pedro Caixinha has gone mainstream.

A year ago after losing to Celtic news of Joey Barton’s fall out with Mark Warburton was leaked to the media with the midfielder never laying again for the tribute act.

This time around it’s Caixinha’s days that are numbered with Miller at the heart of the issue.

After being rested for the League Cup tie against Partick Thistle the 37 year old was left on the bench against Celtic as Carlos Pena plodded around as if he was towing Pedro’s caravan.

Straight after Celtic opened the scoring Miller replaced the chunky Mexican with Graham Dorrans handing the captain’s armband over to 37-year-old former Vancouver Whitecaps goal ace.

Miller’s contempt for Caixinha has been well recorded on social media with the Daily Record highlighting the armband exchange as they reported on the Murray Park fall out from Saturday’s defeat.

According to Keith Jackson in the Daily Record: “A furious Caixinha also rounded on fans’ favourite Graham Dorrans for handing the captain’s armband to sub Kenny Miller when the veteran striker replaced Carlos Pena during the second half of Saturday’s defeat.

“It’s understood Caixinha angrily accused Dorrans of showing him a lack of respect by deciding to give up the captaincy without being instructed to do so by the boss.

“Caixinha’s rant left many of his unsuspecting players gobsmacked and adds to what had already become an uneasy atmosphere between the manager and his team.”

After losing 2-0 to Progres Niederkorn Caixinha didn’t say a word in public for two weeks.

With Hamilton to be faced on Friday the fifth best coach in Qatar may find that he has to preview the match without the overbearing support of Ibrox PR supremo James Traynor to keep the questions in line.

As well as the team news for Friday the decision on who will captain the side will be eagerly awaited with Miller and Dorrans almost certainly out of contention now with Lee Wallace out until December.

NB Following the regime change in March 2015 Paul Murray praised the courageous journalism of the Daily Record.
