James Forrest showed his worth once again tonight with a double in Celtic’s 4-0 win away to Dundee in the League Cup.
Patrick Roberts return was expected to see the 25-year-old return to the sidelines but it’s clear that the academy graduate has something tangible to add to the side.
On Saturday a double from Forrest against Ross County helped Celtic get out of the Champions League shadow cast by Paris Saint Germain.
I’m James Forrest’s biggest critic but this season you just can’t argue with the goals he’s scoring ???? nice to get one over McCann too ????????

James Forrest has got to be most frustrating player of all time. What does McGregor need to do to start.

I watched it. Like I said Roberts might as well not have been on. Poor again. He’s just a poor James Forrest.

James Forrest can only get better with experience. He’s a fantastic player now. What will he be like in 5 years time?

Tonight with Dundee putting the boot in Forrest was fearless on the right flank and killed the game off with the second goal when he stretched to meet a cut back from Kieran Tierney.
Celtic pushed and probed at Dundee through the second half but it wasn’t until the closing minutes that the scoreline was extended.
Callum McGregor ran 60 yards to score the third in the 88th minute with Forrest completing the scoring in stoppage time with a low 22 yard effort that goalkeeper Scott Bain never got close to.
