Alfredo Morelos is ready to take the title from Celtic.
The chunky Columbian goal machine has had a flying start to the season and is already being watched carefully by Ipswich Town.
Morelos was unable to help Sevco reach the second round of the Europa League but after six goals in the SPFL he plans on beating Celtic on Saturday and taking the SPFL trophy to Ibrox.
“My aim at Rangers is to be league champions,” he told The Sun. “So far, I’ve scored eight goals and I have started well.
“I want to make history with Rangers, I want to win the title this year and I want to make sure the Rangers fans are happy.
“When I meet them, they always ask me to score against Celtic. They tell me if I score the winner against them, they will get my name tattooed onto their skin!
“This weekend, we play Celtic for the first time this season and I cannot wait for that. It’s one of the biggest and most famous Classics in the world.
“Both us and the supporters are looking forward to the game. Our fans won’t accept us losing to Celtic and neither do we. We have to beat them.
“Rangers have a really good team with the likes of Bruno Alves and some top Mexican players. I have a good friendship with Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera already.”
Before he gets to face up to Celtic Morelos first of all has to get Sevco past Partick Thistle into the semi final of the League Cup.
The Columbian striker is expected to avoid disciplinary action for kicking out at a Partick Thistle defender but can anticipate a tough time on his return to Firhill.
Sevo signed the striker from Finnish aces HJK Helsinki with the 21-year-old costing a fee of £750,000.
Morelos is expected to be partnered in attack by Kenny Miller with the veteran strike star scoring in both of last season’s home defeats from Celtic with the hoops winning 2-1 in December then winning 5-1 in April.
