Micky O’Halloran has hit back at Pedro Caixinha’s criticisms.

The Sevco boss sent the 26-year-old out on loan to St Johnstone and claimed that O’Halloran wasn’t the type of player needed at Ibrox even when he scored in his first three matches for Tommy Wright’s side.

St Johnstone are two points better off than Sevco with O’Halloran and Wright picking up the Player and Manager of the Month awards for August.

The 26-year-old is due back at Ibrox in January and after being Asked about Caixinha’s criticisms and admitted: “His comments weren’t great, were they? So I don’t know, we’ll just see.”

Asked about contact with the fifth best coach in Qatar he added: “He’s not really spoken to me at all to be honest.

As I say I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m just enjoying my football at St Johnstone – somewhere I’m appreciated and liked.”

Despite branding Mark Warburton’s group as the best squad in Scotland Caixinha has taken the dressing room apart.

A dozen players have been moved on although Andy Halliday, Harry Forrester and Joe Dodoo are only out on loan and due back at Ibrox.

Almost without exception the dispatched players have all made a big impact elsewhere with O’Halloran, Martyn Waghorn, Joe Garner and Dodoo all scoring on their debut.
