Pedro Caixinha has pleaded with Craig Thomson to give special treatment to Alfrefo Morelos and Wes Foderingham.
The Sevco boss is wilting under the pressure of trying to produce a title challenge with the Ibrox club in danger of dropping down to mid-table if they lose to Celtic.
Earlier this week Caixinha claimed that opponents were more physical against his side than other SPFL outfits with absolutely nothing to back up his claim.
Morelos managed to escape punishment for kicking out twice against a Partick Thistle defender but rather than try to control his own player Caixinha is warning Thomson to look out for the Columbian being provoked by Celtic defenders.
“It is a good question as I can use it to send an alert, and that alert is that I know he is going to be provoked,” the fifth best coach in Qatar told the Sevco website. “My concern and my job is to let him be calm and not respond to that. He is a guy who is not going to, when the environment is getting hot, step back.
“He will face the challenge, but he needs to understand how he will face the challenge as he will be challenged. I want him to have his temperament – if I take his temperament out, then he is losing his identity. I just need to know how to control it.”
A month after losing at home to Hibs Caixinha has decided to go public with his concerns about Foderingham being obstructed.
John Beaton was in charge for that match, as he was for Celtic’s visit to Dundee last night, with Caixinha finally deciding to highlight another refereeing issue.
“This is the seventh league match and all the time, and especially in matchday two, we are watching something which is against the rules,” he added.
“Our goalkeeper is being blocked at corner-kicks – nobody can touch, that is what the rules say. Nobody can touch the goalkeeper in the goal-kick area.
“And at each corner, our goalkeeper is being blocked, so it is another alert. It not allowed and it cannot happen – the rule says that – he cannot be touched in that zone.”
