The Hibs ticket farce

Hibs and the SPFL have been slaughtered on social media over 10,000 empty seats at Hampden.

News emerged this morning that the Edinburgh side had only sold half of their tickets with no possibility of additional briefs being made available to Celtic.

With 50,000 season ticket holders Celtic could easily have sold more than the 20,000 tickets they were allocated.

On the park there was little to worry Celtic once Mikael Lustig had put them two goals in front at the interval.

A very generous penalty early in the second half handed Hibs a lifeline which Anthony Stokes converted but Celtic restored their two goal advantage through substitute Moussa Dembele.

In the end Celtic ran out 4-2 winners to book their place in next month’s final.

If Sevco see off Motherwell the tickets will be split 50-50 but if Motherwell are successful at Hampden Celtic can expect an allocation of around 35,000 for the final.
