Furious Neil McCann launched an attack on Andrew Dallas after his side lost 1-0 to Celtic.

The Dundee boss was unhappy about a second half clash of heads involving Cristian Gamboa and Jack Hendry.

Dallas ruled that it was an accidental collision but that didn’t please McCann who likes to carry a rule book with him when it suits his purposes.

I think it is a penalty,” the Dundee boss told The Sun. “I don’t care if it is accidental, big Jack has gone in and won the header and he has been cleaned out by Gamboa.

I don’t see why it is not a penalty. If it’s anywhere else on the pitch that is a free kick.

I hear it all the time and it is what angers managers. Why not in the box ? He has been cleaned out and it should have been a penalty.

I finally got a shot at the linesman when he came up to me and he said he didn’t agree with me.

He said we will watch it on the television and I said I am sure we will and I am sure we will come to a conclusion and it will be a different one from yours.

He said he felt it wasn’t won cleanly, it was a 50-50 header.

Well, my big centre back in there has got a lovely wee medal to take away from Celtic Park with the opening of his eye and that for me just cements that he was cleaned out.”

The defeat leaves Dundee in fifth bottom spot just three points above Kilmarnock in the play-off place.

Just like in the 4-0 League Cup tie at Dens Park Patrick Roberts was signalled out for rough treatment and given little protection from the referee.

The win keeps Celtic level on points with Aberdeen at the top of the table with the hoops having a goal difference of plus 16 while the Dons are plus 10.

A week on Wednesday the top two meet for the first time this season at Pittodrie with Aberdeen enjoying a ten day build up to that match while Celtic take on Bayern Munich and Hibs.

During his playing days McCann was paid £500,000 into an ‘EBT’ fund which is now liable to income tax, national insurance, interest and penalties.
