Davie Provan has called out Dave King and told Sevco fans that they need a new owner.

The South African based criminal has been back in Glasgow for a week without giving a single interview- not even to the club’s in-house media team.

With Pedro Caixinha axed attention is focussed on who will be the next manager as if it was a routine matter to change one element to bring the club success.

While the merits of Derek McInnes, Alex McLeish and Sam Allardyce are debated it seems that there is an embargo on the chronic state of the club finances.

Earlier this month King’s QC told the Court of Session that the Ibrox supremo is penniless, if that statement isn’t true serious trouble lies ahead.

Assuming that King is penniless the verdict from the Takeover Appeal Board could force King out the door or behind bars of he fails to respect the law of the land.

The verdict from the Court of Session is expected next month with Provan one of the few pundits prepared to put King in the spotlight.

King’s poor judgement leaves Rangers looking for their third manager in just over two years, yet his part in the club’s stagnation is overlooked?” the Sky Sports pundit asks in The Sun.

His background as a “Rangers man” has won him the benefit of the doubt again. When the baying mob are finished with Caixinha, maybe the penny will drop.

It’s not a new manager Rangers need, it’s a new owner.

For Rangers EVER to challenge Celtic again, it will take serious money. King is either unwilling or unable to find it.

Hard to believe Gers let pantomime villain Mike Ashley slip through their fingers. A once-in-a-lifetime chance to get a billionaire into the Ibrox boardroom was squandered by the hard of thinking.

When the battle for Ibrox control should have come down to hard cash, emotion won the day.

King claimed the crown because he wore a Rangers scarf as a wee boy.

Only in football could a man with such a colourful past be welcomed like the prodigal son.

That Rangers’ absentee chairman allowed a three-man committee to appoint the new boss beggars belief.

What was he thinking when Caixinha’s name was put in front of him?

You can imagine the conversation: “Ok boss here’s the plan. We’re going to ignore anyone with any knowledge of Scottish football. We’ve found a guy working in the desert who fits the bill.

Track record? No. But we’ll give him £8million for a summer rebuild, then sack him after ten league games if it’s not looking good.”

Sevco have still to publish their audited accounts for the year to June 2017 although further losses are expected with the club sustained by the soft loans of three benefactors.
