Sevco have started their mind games with Aberdeen over Derek McInnes.
On Friday morning the usual trusted sources revealed that the Dons boss was the number one choice to replace Pedro Caixinha with McInnes questioned over the weekend.
An approach was expected on Monday or Tuesday but the reality of compensation and the need to spin things to supporters has resulted in a change of tact this morning.
“Rangers will not be rushed into making a move for Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes.
“Record Sport understands, while the name of McInnes is high on the Ibrox club’s list of candidates to replace Pedro Caixinha, reports claiming they will today make an official approach to Dons chairman Stewart Milne are wide of the mark.”
