Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Patrick Roberts is likely to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

The winger was in devastating form against Kilmarnock but pulled up on the half hour mark suffering a hamstring strain.

Scott Sinclair replaced Roberts who is now likely to miss the remainder of Celtic;s Champions League campaign.

Speaking to Celtic TV straight after the match Rodgers said: “It looks like a hamstring, he’ll probably be out for four to six weeks. We’ll get that scanned then we’ll take it from there.”

With Roberts off the park Celtic took the lead in the 43rd minute when Leigh Griffiths connected brilliantly with a raking pass from Eboue Kouassi.

After the break Celtic struggled to get at the Kilmarnock defence although Mikey Johnston, in just his second top team appearance, drew praise from his manager.

Kilmarnock equalised on the hour mark through Jordan Jones with the hoops unable to force a winner.

Despite the disappointment of drawing the result means that Celtic equalised the 100 year old British record of Willie Maley’s side who went 62 games unbeaten.

James Forrest will replace Roberts for the visit of Bayern on Tuesday with the hoops facing St Johnstone next Saturday looking to set a new unbeaten record of 63 matches.
