Stuart Armstrong is missing from the Scotland squad to face Holland tonight.

Word emerged this afternoon that the midfielder had picked up a knock with Malky Mackay taking no risk with the former Dundee United man.

Armstrong missed a couple of Celtic matches last month after picking up a knock on the day of the 3-0 win over Anderlecht that ruled him out of the last international double header.

He did return for the Champions League away day with Bayern Munich but will now be monitored by the Celtic medical team ahead of next Saturday’s match away to Ross County.

That match is quickly followed by the Champions League trip to Paris Saint Germain and the Betfred Cup Final against Motherwell at Hampden which gives the hoops the chance to pick up the first trophy of the season.

Kieran Tierney will captain Scotland for the first time with Craig Gordon, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Ryan Christie also in the staring XI.
