Ronald de Boer has offered his brother Frank as a candidate for the Sevco vacancy.

The two brothers spent time together at Ibrox over a decade ago with Ronald appearing to be a regular spokesman for his brother’s employment hopes.

Frank has had two disastrous spells in charge of Inter Milan and Crystal Palace and is expected to be in contention to take over as Dutch international manager.

Tonight’s match against Scotland is likely to be Dick Advocaat’s last in charge of the Dutch side with Ronald touting his brother for that job and also the gig at Ibrox.

“The Dutch team will be one of Frank’s things ‘to do,’ but if a big club came knocking on the door that would be very difficult to say no to,” Ronald told BBC Scotland.

“It would be the same with Rangers, he would think about it for sure, he had a great time there although it was a short spell.

“I don’t know. Rangers is a challenge, it’s a helluva task as we have seen over the last few years that there is no stopping Celtic, so it is a challenge but, I don’t know if he is, at this moment, ready to take that challenge.”

Pedro Caixinha was sacked two weeks ago but there has been no official comment from Ibrox since announcing the departure of the former Santos Laguna boss.

It’s believed that Caixinha has still to receive the pay off for the remainder of his contract.

In the club’s accounts published last week it was stated that £4m was required this month but that was before Caixinha was sacked.
