Kris Boyd launched an astonishing attack on Ryan Christie on Radio Scotland last night.

Shortly after Mark Daly’s excited report on the investments of an Irishman in Switzerland attention turned to Scotland’s friendly with Holland on Thursday night.

Christie is on loan from Celtic to Aberdeen and is one of three Dons players included in the squad for the Pittodrie clash.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle player is a former u-21 internationalist and has widely been regarded as Aberdeen’s top performer this season.

Boyd has been dismissive of Christie previously, last night he claimed that he had been shown the door by Celtic and laughed as Michael Stewart gave his opinion on the situation.

Questioned on his view he said: “It’s McGregor or Armstrong in there for me(behind the striker), let’s be honest Ryan Christie isn’t better than those two or he’d still be there, he was shown the door by Celtic.”

Challenged about being shown the door at Celtic by Stewart Boyd said: “He’s oot.”

Boyd then asked Stewart if Christie would get a game if he returned to Celtic, when the answer was positive the Kilmarnock man started to laugh.

To a background of Boyd screeching with laughter Stewart said: “I think that there is a genuine possibility that Ryan Christie could go back to Celtic and be involved in that squad. I’m not saying that he’ll start every game, does Callum McGregor start every game?

Aberdeen travel to Kilmarnock on November 26.
