Bayern Munich have sent a birthday wish to Celtic.
Last week the two clubs did battle in an epic Champions League tie which made a massive impression in both countries.
While German fans delighted in the olde worlde atmosphere of Celtic Park the pain of Celtic being on the big stage without their ‘Old Firm’ rivals was obvious from many sources.

A week after the game it’s obvious that the game made a big impression on Bayern who followed up their win over Celtic by beating Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
It was the seventh successive win since Jupp Heynckes returned as manager with Bayern back on course to retain the Bundesliga title.
In a fortnight’s time Celtic will be looking for Bayern to win away to Anderlecht- that result will guarantee a Europa League place in the new year provided they can avoid a 3-0 defeat from the Belgian side in Matchday Six of the Champions League.
