Sad Sevco were happy to pick up the crumbs from the Champions League by providing Bayern Munich with training facilities today.

Last night the German champions were locked in battle at Celtic Park in a thrilling Champions League tie in front of 60,000 fans and millions worldwide on television.

It’s a far cry from getting knocked out of Europe by the fourth best team in Luxembourg in the first week in July.

Attempting to seem relevant has become increasingly important for Sevco who slipped down to fourth place in the SPFL after Hibs won 3-0 away to Kilmarnock.

Keeping up their big time image the club announced: “RANGERS welcomed German champions Bayern Munich to the Rangers Football Centre today.

“The Bundesliga giants were in Glasgow to play in the Champions League on Tuesday evening and the club granted them access to train at Auchenhowie this morning.

“Jupp Heynckes’ men travel to Westfalenstadion this weekend to face Borussia Dortmund in League action. Bayern currently sit top of the Bundesliga three points clear of Dortmund.

“In recent years the club have welcomed several club sides including Italian giants Inter Milan, as well as international sides such as the United States.”

After being known as Auchenhowie it seems that Murray Park has undergone another name change to the Rangers Football Centre.

Tuesday was the fifth anniversary of Rangers being placed into liquidation with 276 creditors still waiting to see a penny from the invoices that they held in 2012.

Despite Dave King once claiming that he would buy the old club out of liquidation he appears to be struggling to get the 2017 accounts signed off with worried shareholders facing a December AGM outdoors at Ibrox with no trophies on show.
