Celtic have won the race to sign Lewis Morgan.
According to a report in the Evening Times a £300,000 deal has been struck with St Mirren that will secure the winger and leave him on loan at Paisley for the rest of the season.
Morgan has been the outstanding player in the Championship over the last 12 months and has been extensively scouted.
It’s understood that Morgan was a guest of Celtic at the Champions League tie against Anderlecht with the player impressed by Brendan Rodgers’ role in the proposed move.
Like Hearts midfielder Harry Cochrane, Morgan was rejected by the Murray Park Academy of Excellence and moved to St Mirren as a 17-year-old.
With under 100 appearances for St Mirren the 21-year-old is set to join the Scottish champions and earn the Paisley side an instant windfall of £300,000.
Celtic are expected to complete the signing of Marvin Compper before the weekend.
