Sevco on the brink

Celtic are one push away from sending Sevco into meltdown.

For six years the gullible have been lapping up tales of how they were on their way back and about to inflict some serious damage on their many enemies.

Finally, today’s double announcement has brought some reality to Ibrox fans who’ve been happy to deny reality and rally behind whoever can shout We Are The People loudest.

Some voices of dissent are appearing online.

Some fans are questioning the strategy of Dave King and realising that perhaps the Internet Bampots may have been right about the glib and shameless liar from South Africa.

Perhaps the club really is toxic, a basket-case of a company that no sane manager would want to be associated with. Not even Alex McLeish or Billy Davies.

If Celtic beat the tribute act next Saturday the gap at the top of the table will almost certainly stretch into double figures.

It may not be the ‘Rangers’ way but some fans are starting to wonder if the men in the blue-room of unsurpassed dignity are totally out of their depth.

Since Mr King came to power Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and now Murty have been charged with stopping Celtic but have still to catch Aberdeen.

There is now a weight of evidence that confirms the fact that Sevco are no closer to stopping Celtic than when Lee McCulloch threw the ball to Kirk Broadfoot from a hedge in Brechin.

After four home defeats in the first half of the season, after watching gloating Celtic fans celebrate at Ibrox three times in a ten months the penny is starting to drop among some season ticket holders.

Watching Murty biting his anorak and struggling through winter matches with uninterested players holds no appeal to those brought up with a superiority complex.

With three weeks of inactivity following next Saturday’s derby clash a defeat, especially an emphatic one is the last thing that Sevco could cope with.

If Celtic finish the year with three wins the house of cards over in Govan could come crumbling down before Stevie in IT has time to switch the lights out.
