As the campaign to ‘Bring Del Home’ appears to stall one very nasty fly in the ointment has appeared.

According to the latest blog by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain a wise old man in a cardigan has warned the Aberdeen boss against moving to Ibrox.

Having served Sevco as a non-executive director and also as chairman Walter Smith has a better grasp than most to the troubled financing of the tribute act.

For almost six weeks there has been an unrelenting campaign to convince the Aberdeen boss to make a dream move to Ibrox, Smith however has yet to join in.

During that period the club published their audited accounts which made for grim reading with a £6.7m loss for last season and shortfall of £4m for the current term without taking notice of a new management team.

While King promised a January war-chest to Rangers TV viewers he carefully avoided making a similar promise at the club AGM.

McInnes has sounded increasingly frustrated by the slow moving safa, with no sign of an offer coming from Ibrox the words of a respected cardigan must be ringing in the mind of the former Rangers (IL) midfielder.
