The Costa Rica FA are concerned by the lack of game time of Cristian Galboa.
Five months before the World Cup begins in Russia the defender has only managed 170 minutes of club football.
Gamboa’s Celtic prospects nose dived when he opted to play in the Gold Cup rather be available for Champions League qualifiers.
So far there has barely been any speculation about Gamboa moving on with his Celtic’s prospects further hampered by the return from injury of Anthony Ralston.
“Of all, the one who worries and occupies us is Gamboa , who does not compete or play,” Luis Antonio Marín, on the program of the Costa Rican Football Federation (Fedefútbol) told the CRHoy website.
Celtic paid West Brom £1m for Galboa in August 2016 with the 28-year-old starting 16 matches last season.
Despite retaining his place in the Costa Rican side Gamboa has only been involved in two matches this season, the last of which was away to Bayern Munich in October.
Gamboa was part of the Celtic squad that has been training in Dubai but is expected to be on the move this month.
