Hamilton Accies HAVEN’T received a second bid from Sevco for Greg Docherty.

Last night STV Sport claimed that a new offer totalling £500,000 had been made to take the midfielder to Ibrox.

Hamilton are hopeful of having Docherty fit to face Hearts tomorrow night with no sign of an increased or acceptable bid coming in from Sevco.

Updating the situation Accies boss Martin Canning told the Daily Record: “I spoke to Greg there and what will be will be – it’s nothing I can control. That will be between [chairman] Ronnie MacDonald and Rangers to discuss.

“If there’s something there, there’s something there, if there isn’t then there isn’t, so it’s just a case for us at this side that it’s business as usual, and we just have to work away.

“It happens all over the world in football every day that there’s talk about different players and your professionalism has to come first.”

Graeme Murty is still hoping to bring in more new faces during the transfer window but so far has only managed to bring in four loan signings.

None of those players have started a competitive match in the last three months while Docherty and another target, Jordan Jones of Kilmarnock have been playing regularly every week.

Despite the spin and suggestions of a ‘done deal’ it seems unlikely that the midfielder will be heading to Ibrox with Cardiff City, Preston and Millwall all showing interest in taking Docherty to the English Championship.
