Sevco turn down massive Morelos bid

Sevco are considering an incredible £6.5m bid for Columbian goal king Alfredo Morelos!

Report in The Sun and Daily Record sound very familiar to the offer for Nikica Jelavic that the old club rejected in 2011 before going into administration followed by liquidation within a year.

Shortly after the Jelavic ‘bid’ was rejected Peter Lawwell said ‘Last night, we got a £29m offer for Hooper, from an unknown agent, from an unknown club, from another universe.’

Sevco have been trying desperately to raise funds after adding five new salaries to their wage bill during the January transfer window with only Danny Wilson leaving.

Speculation about offers for James Tavernier and Josh Windass have so far come to nothing with attention now focussed on Morelos.

It seems that no club in the English Championship is prepared to go above £1.5m for the uncapped Columbian who cost £750,000 from HJK Helsinki last summer.

According to The Sun a bid of £5.3m from GZ Evergrande FC has been rejected but last night they returned with a new bid of £6.5m.

Jason Cummings has already been brought in as a replacement for Morelos.
