Jamie Murphy will fly to Florida with Sevco as a Brighton player!
Despite Thursday’s dramatically choreographed arrival at Glasgow Airport to give a big time appearance the pursuit of the former Motherwell forward is starting to look closely like ‘Bring Del boy home’ which resulted in a knock back from the Aberdeen boss.
While Sevco had the media hanging on to every word that Murphy said as he arrived at Glasgow Airport, on Friday the signing ‘formality’ was exposed when Chris Hughton said that the 28-year-old was in Glasgow for talks.
According to The Sun his medical consisted of two parts but it wouldn’t be any surprise if there was a problem raising the cash required to pay Brighton.
While Murphy may sign whatever contract is put in front of him satisfying Brighton could be more complex for the company that requires a £4m emergency loan to complete the season.
With Sevco stumbling from one embarrassment to the next Brighton would be perfectly at liberty to tell Murphy not to travel to Florida until the deal is completed.
Sevco are continuing talks to get Carlos Pena out on loan but with their problems raising the money to pay Brighton Murphy may be having second thoughts about his so called ‘dream move’.
