Celtic fans were pleased to hear Peter Lawwell’s criticism of the SFA- and are looking forward to action and reform inside Hampden.
Last September there was a sea-change in opinion when Celtic published details of their correspondence with the SFA which was principally an exchange between Stewart Regan and Lawwell.
Rather than live up to his call for accountability and transparency Regan decided against ‘raking over old coals’ and killed off any hoping of leaving Scotland on credible terms.
I don’t always agree with Peter Lawwell, but he’s right about the SFA. Alan McRae, the Highheidyin, comes from Cove Rangers. That’s like picking the owner of a corner shop, to be the CEO of Walmart.

SFA: Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell urges shake-up of governing body…Exactly what Scotland football fans have been saying for years and totally ignored by the SFA and Scottish Football Media….justsaying

Peter Lawwell’s comments tonight are music to every fan’s ears, but they are not enough without the action to back them up. Time for Celtic to lead from the front. It’s the only way we’ll get the change we need.https://t.co/xT4fpL7pc6

As a minor concession Regan requested that the Compliance Officer look into the 2011 UEFA licence handed to Rangers (IL).
Three months earlier at the Craig Whyte trial witness after witness explained that the club had an unpaid tax bill of £2.8m at the time the SFA rubber-stamped their ticket to the Champions League qualifiers.
Hibs issued a statement urging fans to move on with Stewart Milne of Aberdeen giving the same opinion in interviews, those opinions are in stark contrast to the voiced opinions of supporters of both clubs.
With Regan and a few trusted cheerleaders gone Rod Petrie and Allan McRae are isolated, surely at some point soon, five months after taking on the issue the Compliance Officer has to rule on the 2011 licence.
With a junket to Mexico and Peru looming ahead of a World Cup trip there is a lot for Petrie and McRae to lose- making it the perfect time for a clear out of the guiltiest men ever to slip into blazers.
