A week after helping to break the story four of the Daily Record’s leading sportswriters are questioning the validity of the ‘£8m bid for Alfredo Morelos’.

Since the story broke internet bampots have questioned it’s legitimacy on a number of fronts with all of the evidence suggesting that there is no interest in the Columbian striker.

As well as the players lack of ability highlighted by his failure to understand the offside rule the regulations of the Chinese game suggest that there is no chance of a bid being made.

Both of the Chinese clubs linked to the deal have their full quota of foreign players while a 50% levy on transfer fees over $7m instantly doubles the cost of the ‘transfer’.

Responding to the issue Keith Jackson claims: “There’s scepticism over the whole affair for a very good reason because it defies logic to turn down £8m for Morelos.”

His colleague Gordon Park added: “It beggars belief that Rangers refused to do business for a player who isn’t worth a fraction of what was offered.”

Joining in the action Tony Haggerty states: “The Alfredo Morelos affair still strikes me as a totally bizarre episode.”

Believing in the offer Gavin Berry adds a note of realism saying: “They should have taken the cash and used it wisely to improve other areas, both on the playing side and even off the park with the stadium having been neglected in recent years.”

During the January transfer window Sevco were unable to raise a penny in transfer fees with reported interest in Josh Windass and James Tavernier failing to materialise.
