The SFA are facing the ultimate humiliation with Alex McLeish ready to snub the job of managing Scotland!

The former Rangers (IL) boss has been frantically touting himself for various jobs after a four year exile from managing in the UK.

With a demand from HMRC expected on the £1.7m EBT he pocketed from his days in charge of Ibrox McLeish could do with another job with time running out for him in management at the age of 59.

Michael O’Neill has already refused the Scotland job with a five day circus around Walter Smith ending with a similar outcome.

McLeish has always looked to be the fallback option but four months after the departure of Gordon Strachan it seems that the former Hibs and Motherwell boss is growing restless.

According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail: “Alex has the best Scotland manager’s record based on his win rate and is one of the most capped players ever.

He’s no different to Walter Smith in looking for some respect in terms of this process. He won’t wait forever.”

Without a chief executive and with his deputy handing in his notice the SFA are currently being run by president Allan McRae.
