Graeme Murty has blamed four mistakes in ten seconds for Sevco’s 2-1 defeat at home to Hibs at the weekend.

For the fourth time since taking charge this season the caretaker boss has had to contend with defeat with three of those losses coming at Ibrox.

Rather than talk in football terms Murty likes to go in heavy with ‘office manager’ talk as he deflects attention away from his own failings.

The defeat leaves Sevco just two points ahead of Hibs in the battle for third place while Aberdeen continued their winning ways with a comfortable home win over Hamilton Accies.

Fine margins was today’s theme for Murty, a phrase that winning managers very very rarely use.

It’s fine margins,” he reassured the club website with. “And the fine margins the higher up the leagues you go, the more they actually come into play.

And then the finer they are, the sharper we have to be in dealing with those margins. It’s just par for the course that we have to make sure we nail certain stuff down.

Like I said, but for 10 seconds, and four moments where we made poor choices, there were lots of positives to take from Saturday.

We struggled in the first half, but we made fantastic adjustments at half-time, and really imposed ourselves on a team who are very good.

They played really well in the first half but we stood up to the challenge and I said to the players after the game, we are not going to throw out all the positive strides we have made and all the work we have done because of those 10 seconds.”

Murts did have good news to report with Kenny Miller back in training and available for tomorrow’s match away to Partick Thistle.

There were no questions about £8m striker Alfredo Morelos with Murty glowing in his praise for Walter Smith as the campaign to appoint the former Sevco chairman as Scotland boss gains momentum.
