Brendan Rodgers took a good natured dig at Scottish footballs holidaymakers after watching the hoops beat Aberdeen 2-0 today.

Less than 72 hours after losing 3-0 to Zenit St Petersburg the champions re-established their nine point lead.

The match in Russia was Celtic’s 14th European game of the season with Sevco’s European adventure over before Celtic’s season kicked off away to Linfield in July.

As well as their domestic and UEFA fixtures Celtic have supplied more than half of the Scotland international team with Tom Rogic and Mikael Lustig helping Australia and Sweden to the World Cup Finals via the play-offs.

Celtic now have 10 Premiership fixtures left to play plus possibly three more matches in the Scottish Cup as they go for back-to-back trebles..

Anticipating what is left of the season Rodgers told Radio Scotland: “Each time we take a knock, each time there is a critic you bounce back, coming to a really tough place and coming away with a 2-0 victory while being the dominant team is fantastic.

We’re all on an even playing field now, with most other teams we have ten games to go in the league, some teams around us have been on holiday for a year with virtually one game a week.

With ourselves we can now concentrate and focus on the ten remaining games to go, it’s been a really good season so far and we can make it another great season.”

Celtic complete a hectic week by facing Dundee on Wednesday followed by Morton in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
