Tommy Wright has launched an astonishing attack on Andrew Dallas claiming that he has lost count of the number of times he has phoned John Fleming to complain about the FIFA ref.

Two yellow cards to David Wotherspoon within ten minutes upset the St Johnstone boss as Chriistophe Berra fouled his way through 90 minutes.

Dallas, son of shamed former SFA refereeing chief Hugh, has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the ranks while attracting criticism from many sources.

Former Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels produced a video from the dug out to discredit Dallas when he was a fourth official with fellow Ulsterman Wright just as scathing.

After losing 1-0 to Hearts the Saints boss told STV: “Christophe Berra got away with fouls all day and doesn’t get talked to.

“Then he sends David off when we thought it was a foul by the Hearts player [Adao] but Berra plays for Scotland and David doesn’t.

“I don’t want to make it ‘the Andrew Dallas show’ because he made enough of that out there.

“I’m certainly not going to be phoning John Fleming about him because I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been on to him about Andrew Dallas. Luckily he’s not in charge for either of our next two games.”

Wright added: “I don’t mind the penalty not being given if the decision was that it wasn’t intentional but Andrew Dallas clearly pointed to his shoulder when everyone could see it was a handball.”

Saturday’s match was the first time this season that Dallas has been in charge of St Johnstone, in contrast it was his fourth Hearts match including back to back games away to Hibs and at home to Partick Thistle for the reopening of the new stand at Tynecastle.

Rather than phone John Fleming, Wright may find more success getting his chairman Steve Brown to lobby the SFA over refereeing matters.
