Graeme Murty was furious with the penalty that gave Hibs victory over Sevco at Ibrox.

It was the third time that the caretaker boss had tasted defeat at home with Neil Lennon’s side joining Hamilton Accies and St Johnstone in humiliating Murty.

When Sean Goss equalised John McGinn’s opener it looked like the home side would take full points but two minutes later Hibs were back in front when James Tavernier pushed over Scott Allan in the penalty box.

Course I’ve got arguments about the penalty,” Murts said in his after match media conference about Willie Collum’s decision.

I’m not going to say it out loud, probably not, em regardless of whether it’s a penalty or not we put ourselves in a situation through a poor press at the wrong time.

Allowing them into our final third and then allowing the referee to make a decision that changed the outcome of the game.

That is a little bit naïve from us but as soon as they got in there I could see it happening, I had sneaking suspicion that it would be given.”

Murty started with £8m striker Alfredo Morelos in his side but the Columbian got little joy out of Efe Ambrose who marshalled the Hibs defence in the absence of injured duo Darren McGregor and Paul Hanlon.

Allan returned to the Hibs side after stints at Celtic, Rotherham and Dundee and put in an impressive performance in the middle of the park against Murty’s engine room.

With Aberdeen beating Hamilton 3-0 Sevco trail the Dons by six points with Hibs just two points in fourth spot.
