Sevco last night lost out on a trio of strikers as the master plan of Mark Allen was left exposed by the lack of cash.

One by one signing targets Tyler Roberts, Devante Cole and Oli McBurnie escaped the net of Sevco’s Director of Football.

After watching how Celtic signed Moussa Dembele for a third of the cost of Joe Garner the Ibrox club have been looking to lure a cut price gem north of the border to be turned into a superstar on the fields of Murray Park.

Roberts was scoring for fun at Walsall and opted to join Leeds on a four and a half year deal rather than accept a pre contract deal to work with Kenny Miller next season.

Cole, the son of Andy, has caught the eye scoring for Fleetwood and switched to promotion favourites Wigan where he signed a two and a half year agreement.

When Jason Cummings joined Sevco on loan McBurnie was quickly on social media praising his mate on a dream move.

The Scotland u-21 striker looked set to go to Sunderland on loan from Swansea but after that move fell through he joined Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

Apart from four loan deals the only player that has signed for Sevco beyond the end of this season is Greg Docherty from Hamilton.
