Stuart Armstrong won’t discuss his Celtic future.

The midfielder is out of contract in June 2019 and is anxious to avoid the public debate that he was drawn into a year ago.

Last spring Armstrong was in the form of his life as Celtic swept to the treble with 17 goals from 31 domestic starts.

It wasn’t until August that he signed up to a new contract with fans underwhelmed by a 12 month extension that was lacking in commitment.

Last season’s star turn has been something of a let down with the player missing for over two months following a hernia operation that had restricted his game before undergoing surgery.

Contract decision time is approaching again with Armstrong body-swerving the subject when he was asked about a new deal on Scotland duty yesterday.

I’m not going to talk about that just now,” was his reply when the Daily Record raised the subject.

With Tom Rogic and Charly Musonda all contracted until June 2019 some big decisions are inevitable in the next few months.
