Dedryck Boyata has been named in the Belgian squad to face Saudi Arabia next week.

The Celtic defender only returned from injury last Sunday at Ibrox and had a difficult afternoon as the hoops came out 3-2 winners.

Brendan Rodgers has referred to Boyata as his first choice central defender with the former Manchester City man named in top quality company by Roberto Martinez.

Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham), Dedryck Boyata (Celtic), Laurent Ciman (Los Angeles FC), Leander Dendoncker (Anderlecht), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Jordan Lukaku (Lazio), Thomas Meunier (PSG), Thomas Vermaelen (Barcelona), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)

Belgium have been drawn in World Cup Group G along with England, Tunisia and Belgium and are sixth favourites to win the trophy behind Germany, Brazil, France, Spain and Argentina.

The 27-year-old defender has won two full international caps, picking up his first back in 2010, the same year that he made his debut for Manchester City.
