Image for Gordon hints at shock Ibrox return

After returning to training this week Craig Gordon has upped his Instagram activity.

A picture of boots and gloves signalled his return to training with a midweek trip to London not entirely unlikely.

Just before 7am this morning the keeper created a stir by posting a picture from December’s 0-0 Glasgow derby- a match in which he pulled off two outstanding saves.

Gordon suffered medial knee ligament damage against Hibs on January 27 and was initially expected to be out of action for 12 weeks.

Dorus de Vries has been a competent stand-in but was badly at fault for the second goal that Zenit St Petersburg scored in Celtic’s Europa League exit.

The Dutchman is expected to be in goals at Ibrox but Gordon’s Instagram post is either mischief making or someone that feels he could soon be involved in another Glasgow derby.

Celtic signed Scott Bain on loan from Dundee as back up to de Vries.
