Motherwell send out the message about Thomson

For the best part of a century, or perhaps more, Celtic fans were accused of being paranoid.

In 2018 it seems that Motherwell are questioning the integrity of one of Scotland’s leading referees.

Being a leading referee is little to write home about with the title shared by luminaries such as Bobby Madden, Willie Collum, Steven McLean and John Beaton.

Google doesn’t need to search too far for examples of their howlers but it seems that Motherwell have taken things further with Craig Thomson.

Imagine the reaction if Celtic had raised a complaint about Bobby Tait or the Revered Mike McCurry, the defence put to support those two characters and others was incredible.

Reporting on Motherwell’s concern about Thomson The Sun reveals: “It’s understood Well believe that there is an urgent need for dialogue over an official who is beginning to leave them fearing he has an agenda against the Steelmen.

They will stop short of asking for Thomson to be kept away from their fixtures for the forseeable future.”

With that message out there it’ll be very interesting to see how long it is before Thomson is at Fir Park.

Going on past form his next Motherwell match will be far from Lanarkshire, ideally Ross County away.

Already this season Tommy Wright has voiced detailed concerns about the ability of Andrew Dallas with Neil Lennon making his thoughts on Kevin Clancy very clear.

Paranoid? Maybe Motherwell, St Johnstone and Hibs have got some grounds for questioning the men in black?
