Rangers Tax Case returns

After a seven week break Rangers Tax Case has returned to twitter as the clock ticks down on Dave King’s departure from Sevco.

The man described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge has until midnight on Saturday to come up with the £11m needed to underwrite a share offer to minority investors left out of his concert party takeover.

With Friday being a bank holiday and only limited activity on Saturday the end game is very close with the Court of Session and Takeover Appeal Board prepare to apply sanctions.

On the park Sevco’s problems are complicated by the need to produce interim accounts to 31 December 2017 showing that the club is in profit in order to secure a UEFA licence for next season.

Unless they have struck oil or gold under the blue room of dignity further losses are expected pushing the company over the €5m three year debt threshold permitted by UEFA.

All of this comes as the SFA await the report from their Compliance Officer into the 2011 UEFA licence given to Rangers (IL) despite clear evidence that there was an overdue bill to HMRC for £2.8m relating to the tax dodge used to pay Ronald de Boer and Tore Andre Flo.
