Celtic’s Development League side ended a run of three consecutive defeats with a well deserved 4-0 win over Kilmarnock tonight.

A heavy schedule of fixtures and effectively an u-19 squad has made life difficult for Tommy McIntyre’s side but they showed their worth tonight against a club that beat them just ten days ago.

After a goal-less first half Kerr McInroy livened things up with a stunning 30 yard drive in the 57th minute with that strike quickly followed up by a 25 yarder from Grant Savoury.

Those goals gave the young hoops a burst of confidence as the passes started to flow and chances were created in the closing quarter of the match.

With nine minutes left to play a forceful run by Daniel Church ended with Ewan McLevy putting the ball into his own net.

In stoppage time substitute Leo Mazis turned the Killie defence inside out with Jack Aitchison finishing in style from close range to complete the scoring.

With international fixtures coming up Celtic aren’t back in action until March 30 when they play Motherwell at Forthbank, Stirling.

CELTIC: Mullen; Duffy, Welsh, Deas (Potter 46), Church; Bell (Mazis 63), McInroy; Watson, Henderson, Savoury (Caffrey 76); Aitchison
