Daniel Church scored a spectacular goal at Rugby Park last night as Celtic lost 2-1 to Kilmarnock.

The home side were leading 1-0 with ten minutes left to play in the first half when the Killie keeper came towards the edge of the penalty box to punch the ball clear.

Church collected the loose ball, took one touch then lobbed the ball back into the empty net from the best part of 30 yards.

Unfortunately Killie came back with a winner in the 70th minute to send a very young Celtic side to defeat.

Tommy McIntyre’s side are back in action on Friday night when they face Hibs at Lennoxtown as they attempt to catch up on their fixture backlog.

Celtic are around five games behind most clubs and trailing leaders Hibs by 14 points having played five matches less.

CELTIC: Doohan; Wardrop (Potter), Welsh, Duffy, Church; Bell, McInroy; Henderson, Watson, Caffrey (Aitchison 62); Savoury (Diver 50).
Not Used: Willison, Campbell, Deas
