Kris Boyd is expecting Brendan Rodgers to quit Celtic in the summer.

The Kilmarnock striker has watched the Irishman transform Celtic with the prospect of a double treble becoming too much to bear.

Rodgers signed a four year contract with Celtic 12 months ago and has given no indication that he is thinking of leaving. Pressed in recent interviews with the Daily Mail and TalkSPORT about a return to the ‘glamour’ of playing against Bournemouth, West Brom, Crystal Palace and Swansea the Celtic boss has made it perfectly clear that he is in a good position personally and professionally.

With Sevco having failed miserably over the last six years the notion that Rodgers is the only barrier to success at Ibrox is a popular one among the gullible and deluded.

Writing in The Sun Boyd explained: “For Rodgers, you can’t tell me he’s not got one eye on a potential summer move OUT of Celtic if an interesting offer comes his way.

I certainly wouldn’t rule it out. Celtic supporters might not like to hear that, but it’s the truth.

Football is flooded with managers who are out of work and there are only a handful of big jobs that will really appeal to Rodgers at this stage of his career.

If one of those was to become available then he might decide that it’s time to move on.

Winning a double treble is probably as good as it’s going to get for him at Celtic.

Rodgers already has the League Cup and title under his belt.

If he adds the Scottish Cup next month then there’s got to be a chance that he will walk off into the sunset.”

There is more chance of Real Madrid swapping Ronaldo for Boydchenko than Rodgers not being at Celtic for the start of the eight-in-a-row campaign.
