Stuart McCall has claimed that Graeme Murty will be unaffected by Dave King’s vote of no confidence!.

The former Bradford boss was the first man hired- and fired- by King when he swept to power at Ibrox three years ago and has watched from afar as Murty’s stock has risen then crashed back to earth.

With a week to prepare for the biggest match of the season the last thing that the Ibrox caretaker wanted to read this morning was that the Sevco chairman was going to appoint a manager to bring instant success next season.

The criteria has killed off Murts hopes of getting the job on a permanent basis but rather than stand up for a fellow manager McCall has opted to side with the club that sacked him after play-off failure in 2015.

He’s been in the game long enough, he just gets on with it day-to-day,” McCall told STV.

“You can’t let it affect you. It didn’t affect me not knowing what was going to happen at the end of the season.

“I think it’s clear. If you get results and do well, there’s a good chance you’ll stay. If you don’t then there’s a good chance you’ll move on. I think that’s pretty simple.

“I think Graeme’s done really well. It would help his case enormously if they could get to the final, and go and win it, naturally.

“Speaking from personal experience, it doesn’t affect you. All you’re worried about is the players on the park and how they can go and affect a game.”

McCall was sacked by Bradford after five successive home defeats in January.
