Since before the first whistle at Hampden on Saturday Celtic fans have been celebrating with social media swamped by clips of hoops supporters enjoying the latest success.

Never before has the treble been successfully defended but that’s exactly what Brendan Rodgers’ side achieved on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Motherwell.

Across the west of Scotland there were scenes of great joy with a particular concentration in the triangle between Celtic Park, Hampden and Glasgow city centre.

With the mercury going close to 20 degrees there was no reason not to party as first half goals from Callum McGregor and Olivier Ntcham put the outcome of the match beyond doubt.

Celtic fans occupied more than three sides of Hampden, giving their team incredible backing throughout at a stadium which was considered a bogey ground just two years earlier.

Once the final whistle blew the celebrations really kicked off with the added bonus of an open top bus to parade the players back to Celtic Park.

It was an unforgettable day in many ways, thanks to video and social media no one will be forgetting about it any time soon.

LUSTIG TIME

He might not be Kieran Tierney but there’s no denying the enthusiasm of Mikael Lustig for the hoops.

The Swede has very much bought into fan culture and is always at the heart of any Over The Top celebrations as Police Scotland will confirm.

Lustig sat in among the supporters during the recent 3-2 win at Ibrox and has been known to get his Celtic kit on for a spot of gardening.

YOU’RE ON THE TELLY!

This one is a belter!

One supporter not only managed to gate crash the VIP area for the presentation ceremony but he also took a phone call while live on telly!

No words are really needed with his expressions saying it all as Kris Ajer and Olivier Ntcham get their chance to lift the trophy.

HUDDLE TIME

No Celtic celebration is complete without a huddle, midway through the second half 40,000 fans turned their back on the action to celebrate the double treble winners.

It may have started off somewhere in Poland but like most fan celebrations there is little doubt that Celtic do it better than most.

Rod Stewart and other celebrities have been known to join in but without question this celebration belongs to the the ordinary fan as they enjoy and celebrate a golden era in the club’s history.

ALL ABOARD THE BRENDAN CHOO CHOO

This could have been any train station, supermarket ot garage across Glasgow on Saturday night.

With no hint of trouble, supporters, old and young, male and female, celebrate another historic day with the grand old team.

Sunday was much the same before and after Scott Brown’s Testimonial match, locals certainly know it with most visitors too knowing that Glasgow is without doubt Green and White.

TEN IN A ROW

There is a fairly serious backdrop to Celtic’s current success with the day of reckoning getting ever closer.

The magic ten was denied in 1975 but after almost going out of business in the early nineties Celtic fans of all ages are well aware of the landmark title not too far over the horizon.

It will be an incredible achievement to hit the ten but with seven in the bag and another title looking likely next season the chant of ten-in-a-row is growing momentum all the time.
